spring's best hats

When done right, we love a good hat.  This one is one of our favorites:

Only joking.  Don't launch into a panic mode thinking we are going to send you out in public looking like this.  We would never lead you astray.  Even Samantha Jones can't pull this one off.  Now that Spring is rolling in, it is the perfect time to break out the hats!  Below are some of our actual favorites.

The Fedora:  This one is a classic.  Forms of this hat have been around for years and they come in a variety of styles and colors.  The current fedora trend is made of straw and screams summer.  This one from Tilly is a steal.
Women's Straw Fedora $12.99

Wear yours to the beach with your bathing suit.   Toss it on with a casual outfit of jeans, a t-shirt and sandals.  It adds a little something to an otherwise dull outfit.  It can look equally great with a little sundress.   Go for a dressier felt/wool fedora for a dressier option and you can pair it with heals and a blazer.

The Panama Hat:  The panama hat is similar to to the fedora but generally flatter, more square and has a slightly larger brim.

J.Crew Panama Hat $58

Avoid all things khaki with this hat or you risk looking like Indiana Jones.  The Panama can be worn the same way as a fedora but it has a slightly different vibe.  Its' all in personal preference.  Make it look a little more rocker-esque buy getting one in black and adding some funky accessories like Kate Moss and Kiera Knightley.

The Floppy Hat:  Wonder what this hat looks like?  It's floppy!  Go figure.
Fab Floppy Sunhat $6.50 at Forever 21

This is a super boho look, so it looks best worn in that way.  Don't fight it.  Pair it with a flowy off the shoulder top and wedges or with a casual sundress.  It's best worn at the beach with giant sunglasses.

In the mood for summer yet?

I just came to your blog for the first time, and I'm glad I did! You have some super cute things listed here, that won't break the bank. I'm loving the straw fedoras for summer. They look so cool. I'm definitely going to make this my "go to" site for bargain fashion buys!
