TLC for your Wardrobe

So you finally invest in a beautiful cashmere sweater and without thinking throw it in your wash with a load of like colors...on a regular cycle...yikes! Bye bye beautiful cashmere sweater! Or you made the plunge and went to a place like Intimacy to purchase those expensive bras and threw your expensive new bra in the wash and now it has lost its shape! There has been so many of these mishaps in my house and in efforts to save money everywhere it is hard to know when to dry clean and when not to. With bankers as husbands we pay enough on their dry cleaning. Here is what we have found out:

Cashmere: Can be washed on a gentle or delicate cycle as long as it is one color. If there is more than one color it will need to be sent to dry cleaning.

Lingirie: Use a lingirie bag...trust - me even on a gentle cycle there is no better protection!

Silks: This is a dry clean only scenario...the color will not preserve otherwise.
Leather: Wet leather needs to dry naturally or they will waffle and harden. Do not take a blow dryer to that leather jacket!

Deoderent stains: sponge with white vinegar.

I am sure this is one post we will continue to add on to...share with us any tips you have that work as well!
